STERLING, Mass. — A paramedic was fired after posting racist comments on her Facebook page.
Telegram.com reported that Linda Kimball was fired after her suspension earlier in the week after a closed-door hearing with Fire Chief David Hurlbut and Town Administrator Ross Perry.
Kimball was suspended after officials learned she had used the term “porch monkeys” when insulting New England Patriots players for kneeling during the national anthem.
Her husband, Mark Kimball, is a firefighter and paramedic for the Charlton Fire Department and is taking personal time off after coming under scrutiny for making a Facebook post that defended his wife’s comment. He has been ordered to undergo sensitivity training for social media postings.
