NEW ORLEANS — Police are investigating a collision between school bus and a garbage truck in Central City.
Around 6:30 a.m., the crash occurred at the intersection of Lasalle and Second streets.
The students in the bus were headed to Joseph S. Clark school, according to parents on the scene.
One student was strapped to a stretcher and taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Several other students were treated at the scene by paramedics.
The school bus only showed minor damage from the collision.
Twelve students were on the bus and seven of them were taken to the hospital.
According to police, the children sustained minor injuries to the neck, head or legs.
The driver of the bus was cited for failure to yield to a right away.
