St. Louis EMT critically wounded in drive-by shooting

Police report that the incident appears to be a random shooting

ST. LOUIS — An off-duty St. Louis EMT was shot in a drive-by shooting Wednesday night, according to KMOV.

The victim, a member of the St. Louis Fire Department, was taking his laundry to a nearby laundromat in the University City neighborhood when the gunfire started.

Witnesses stated that at least two cars were involved in the shooting, according to the KMOV report.

The injured EMT is in critical condition at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Police report that the incident appears to be a random shooting and an investigation is under way.

Several St. Louis firefighters are supporting the EMT at the hospital, KMOV said.
