OTTAWA, Ontario — Officials say six people have died after a passenger train collided with a double-decker bus in Canada’s capital, and 30 people are injured, 11 of them critically.
Passengers and witnesses say the bus went through a closed crossing barrier and struck the side of the train in Ottawa.
The accident happened at the peak of morning rush hour on Wednesday.
Anthony Di Monte, chief of the Ottawa Paramedic Service, announced the number of dead and injured at a news conference.
