SJC Industries Corp. Completes Successful Field Trials with activTek’s Continuous Air Decontamination System

No Maintenance, Filterless ActivePure® Technology Now Offered on McCoy Miller, Marque and Premiere Ambulances

SJC Industries, Corp. and activTek Health Solutions announce the successful completion of field trials for activTek Environmental’s ActivePure technology. The Induct 500 was installed in a local EMS Premiere unit for the trial. Independent lab results showed complete neutralization of bacteria, mold, viruses and other contaminants. The unit continues to remain in service today.

Beth Krah, owner of activTek Health Solutions, states that ActivePure technology differs from other systems in that it is the only technology available to the EMS community that encompasses a “purifying plasma” that is continually proactive, not passive. “While other systems rely on contaminated air to be carried through filters to treat it, ActivePure technology produces a non-detectable plasma by units like the Induct 500 and relies on the air current to carry this technology to the environment, reaching those nooks and crannies which can escape disinfecting wipes.” UV lights may deactivate bacteria, but ActivePure technology will neutralize it on contact, dramatically reducing odors and contaminants where they start. The technology also reaches interior surfaces and continues to work long after cleaners and disinfectants have evaporated.

At less than 3 lbs., the Induct 500 utilizes activTek Environmental’s proprietary ActivePure technology which uses Radiant Catalytic Ionization (RCI) and has been rigorously tested and proven to reduce 99.8% of bacteria and viruses, including MRSA, Staph and Strep infections, E. Coli, Listeria and Pseudomonas, among others. ActivePure technology has been clinically tested, peer reviewed and published in the Journal of Environmental Science and Technology in January 2007.

SJC Industries continues to demonstrate their industry leadership by being the first to offer ActivePure technology in all of their ambulances. Director of Operations, Ron Curran, states “We are very pleased with the results and the complete and timely support of activTek Health Solutions. SJC stands completely behind this technology as the next step to ensuring the health and well-being of the EMS community. This technology far exceeds the current methods of infection control and we are excited to offer ActivePure technology on our McCoy Miller, Marque and Premiere lines.”

Mike Letts, Vice President of activTek Environmental, states “With the increased concern over the spread of infectious diseases and airborne contaminants, we believe that the EMS community will benefit greatly from our activeTek technology. We are pleased to be working with activTek Health Solutions and SJC Industries in their focus to provide a healthier environment for EMS personnel. We believe that SJC’s ambulances outfitted with our products will assist in solving infection control/safety issues for EMS personnel and will increase the quality of care for patients being transported.” Headquartered in Dallas, Texas with manufacturing facilities in Bristol, Virginia, activTek Environmental was established upon a history of proven pioneering success to the air purification industry.
