Padcom Teams with RSA Security to Provide Secure, Continuous Application Delivery

BETHLEHEM, Pa.– Padcom, Inc., a leader in wireless software solutions for continuous remote access to critical applications, today announced that it has joined the RSA Secured® Partner Program to certify interoperability between Padcom®’s TotalRoam® software and RSA SecurID® for Microsoft® Windows® and RSA SecurID® two-factor authentication solutions. Padcom®’s TotalRoam® software has been awarded RSA Secured certification with RSA SecurID for Microsoft Windows and RSA SecurID software, signaling that a technical partnership has been established to increase security for customers using TotalRoam® to persistently deliver mission-critical and productivity applications to remote workers.

“Companies need to maintain continuous access to vital information, and security is always a primary concern, especially on wireless networks,” said Stuart Cohen, director of partner development at RSA Security. “The technology partnership between Padcom® and RSA Security provides a valuable and secure connectivity solution to end users and we are pleased to continue the momentum of the RSA Secured Partner Program with the addition of Padcom®.”

Padcom®’s TotalRoam® wireless software solution provides enterprises with continuous application delivery for mobile workers and wireless devices. TotalRoam® allows agencies and enterprises to integrate dissimilar networks and create a seamless application delivery network. As a result, mobile workers gain superior access to important software and information in the central office and out in the field. Businesses benefit from improved productivity and from an open architecture that allows them to integrate a variety of network technologies without becoming locked into a single solution.

The RSA SecurID system is the world’s most widely used two-factor user authentication solution. It is as simple to use as entering a password, but significantly more secure. Used in conjunction with RSA® Authentication Manager software, an RSA SecurID authenticator functions like an ATM card for a company network, requiring users to identify themselves with two unique factors — something they know (a password or PIN), and something they have (in this case, an RSA SecurID key fob token) — before they are granted access to secure business information.

“We are pleased to be working with RSA Security and are excited about the additional data protection that our interoperable solutions present for our customers. We recognize that security is critical in deploying mobile data solutions and having an RSA Secured certification further validates TotalRoam®’s robust mobile VPN functionality,” said Scott Stone, CEO of Padcom, Inc. “Padcom® is an established leader in wireless data solutions, so it’s fitting that we should partner with one of the most recognized and trusted names in identity and access management to deliver solutions of unparalleled usability and security.”
