Praetorian Group and EMS1.com Acquire Best Practices in Emergency Services Newsletter

Acclaimed publication is a membership benefit of the National EMS Management Association

SAN FRANCISCOThe Praetorian Group, Inc., the leading digital media company in the public safety and security markets, today announced it has acquired all assets of Best Practices in Emergency Services, a highly regarded monthly newsletter for EMS leaders and a membership benefit of the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA).

Best Practices in EMS will be merged into a new digital publication produced by EMS1.com, the leading online resource for the EMS community worldwide, aimed at EMS leaders and decision-makers. The publication, titled Paramedic Chief: Best Practices for the Progressive EMS Leader, will launch in July 2014 and be delivered monthly to NEMSMA members and thousands of other chiefs, medical directors, managers and senior managers.

As a trusted publication for EMS managers, chiefs and administrators, Best Practices provides expert analysis, critical insight into complex issues, practical case studies and inspiration for leadership development. Established by EMS leader and journalist John Becknell in 1998, Best Practices has been published for the past five years by the RedFlash Group, a national consulting firm specializing in strategy, marketing and outreach for the public safety and healthcare markets.

“We look forward to working with the editors of EMS1 and NEMSMA to continue the tradition of journalistic excellence that has been a trademark of Best Practices from the very beginning,” said Keith Griffiths, president of the RedFlash Group.

With members including EMS leaders from every type of service model, large and small, NEMSMA has become one of the most influential organizations in the industry.

Best Practices has been an important partner to NEMSMA, providing an invaluable resource for our members,” said Troy Hagen, NEMSMA president. “We’re very pleased to see that continue with the Praetorian Group.”

Praetorian will also be launching an EMS1.com microsite for EMS managers and leaders in late 2014, featuring content from the newsletter and additional exclusive resources.

“We’re eager to build upon the strong legacy that Best Practices has established and look forward to partnering with NEMSMA, an organization that shares our mission of assisting all segments of EMS to better serve their communities and improve patient care in the out-of-hospital environment,” said Alex Ford, CEO of Praetorian Group and EMS1. “This acquisition clearly reinforces our commitment to providing great content and services to all levels of EMS, from new hires to seasoned managers, chiefs and executives.”

Praetorian has focused recently on expanding its content for the leadership and management segments across all public safety markets, with the addition of new high-level advisors and the acquisition and digital relaunch of the FIRE CHIEF Magazine brand in February 2014, as well as the June 2014 launch of Police1.com’s The Police Leader eNewsletter.
