Vital Connect Revolutionizes Wearable Medical Biosensors with New Product Launch at the 2016 HIMSS Conference & Exhibition

Single-use, peel and stick health monitoring VitalPatchTM delivers clinical-grade
accuracy in a disposable biosensor

SAN JOSE, CA – VitalConnect is redefining patient care with the VitalPatchTM biosensor debuting at the 2016 HIMSS Conference. With the global market for biosensors to monitor health projected to exceed $40 billion annually by 2020, Vital Connect’s innovative sensor technology defines the next generation of patient monitoring solutions at home and in the hospital. As a leader in medical-grade wearable biosensors combined with mobile and cloud-based technologies, the company is introducing its latest product, the VitalPatchTM, an all-in-one, single-use, fully disposable wearable developed to support clinical decision-making.
Powered by Vital Connect’s proprietary VitalCoreTM processor, the VitalPatchTM is the next evolution of Vital Connect’s already best-in-class FDA-approved biosensor, HealthPatch® MD. With the VitalPatchTM, the same powerful continuous measurements available in HealthPatch® MD are now included in a peel and stick, single-use device. The lightweight, wireless, adhesive patch continuously monitors and records single lead ECG, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, posture, step count and fall detection with clinical accuracy. Through the VitalConnect platform, care teams receive accurate data and notifications to make health decisions and enable timely interventions.

“VitalPatch was designed for patient comfort, ease of use, and to optimize clinical workflows,” said Dr. Nersi Nazari, Chairman and CEO of Vital Connect.

VitalPatchTM has a streamlined, flexible profile that is unobtrusive during a patient’s activities of daily living. Also, since the patch is fully disposable, there is no potential for cross-contamination and no need for the patient or clinical staff to manage reusable components. “From hospitals to home, medical-grade wearable biosensors have enormous potential to improve patient outcomes while lowering healthcare costs. Ease of use and minimal disruption to established clinical routines are critical for rapid adoption of these devices in patient care settings,” Nazari said, “We are pleased that the VitalPatch has been well-received by the healthcare market. It is being deployed for various applications in 2016 including under our partners’ brands.”

With the VitalPatchTM, patients may be monitored at any location where continuous monitoring offers the opportunity for early detection of patient deterioration and early intervention by care teams.
