ImageTrend expands open platform data sharing

LAKEVILLE, Minn. — ImageTrend, Inc. announced the expansion of its Open Platform data sharing through ImageTrend Health Information Hub™ (HIH™). This industry-leading expansion enables EMS agencies to interchange data and transfer ePCR incidents with agencies using any NEMSIS version 3 certified system, breaking down the software-specific barriers that previously prevented local and regional partners from sharing encounter data.

“The ability to obtain and transfer patient health data between agencies – regardless of which vendor they document their ePCRs in – is ground breaking,” commented Mike McBrady, President and CEO of ImageTrend, Inc. “This information is powerful to help improve and impact care given in the field. We are thrilled to be offering this to all EMS agencies, regions and states, no matter who their data collection vendor is.”

Innovation and configurability isn’t new to ImageTrend; it’s a part of their culture. “The flexibility of the ImageTrend Elite™ and HIH platforms has proven exceptional in how our clients can collect and use their data. Features such as repeat patient, patient lookup in the field and reporting have benefited ImageTrend clients for years. Now, with all providers given the opportunity to participate in our Open Platform through HIH and share patient data among agencies and regions, the health data network grows stronger,” said Michael Patock, Vice President of Health Data Services.

ImageTrend’s Open Platform data sharing expands upon existing HIH functionality, which provides bidirectional, automatic exchange of data to connect ImageTrend’s Elite software with hospitals, billing, registries and HIEs. HIH shares EMS, fire and outcome data through a variety of national data standards including HL7, NFIRS and NTDB.

Understanding health data at the patient’s side is vital for a complete picture of care both during and beyond the point of emergency. The Open Platform data sharing through HIH is using data to its fullest for the benefit of the patient.
