In this week’s Quick Clip, hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson talk with Dr. Bryan Bledsoe, an emergency physician, paramedic and EMS educator, on how to improve EMS training.

Bledsoe points out that EMS providers are often juggling many different patients and tasks at once, and it’s important for them to know how to multitask. He also suggests that the EMS and fire fields tend to attract more visual learners, whereas medical students that come through a college pathway are more analytical.

“In EMS, we have to push the paramedics to be more analytical,” he said, “and we have to push the doctors to be less analytical.”
