PRESS RELEASE

ELKHART, Ind. — Idaho EMS providers now have easier access to reliable, high-value ambulances. Medix Specialty Vehicles, an ambulance manufacturer known for delivering dependable units with competitive lead times, has expanded its dealer coverage in the region as Hughes Fire Equipment adds Idaho to its Medix Ambulances territory.

This expansion means EMS providers, fire departments, hospitals, and private services across Idaho will have local access to Type I, Type II, and Type III Medix ambulances, backed by Hughes Fire Equipment’s experienced sales and service team. Customers can expect the same straightforward buying process, dependable support, and relationship-first approach that Medix and Hughes are known for across the region.

“We are excited to grow our partnership with Medix Specialty Vehicles into Idaho,” said Mike Duyck, CEO of Hughes Fire Equipment. “This expansion means we can bring Medix’s innovative and reliable EMS vehicles to even more first responders who rely on top-tier equipment to keep up with their community’s needs. We look forward to supporting Idaho’s emergency services with the same dedication and quality that our customers know us for.”

Hughes Fire Equipment became a Medix dealer in 2024 and currently represents Medix Ambulances in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii. Adding Idaho strengthens the partnership and gives first responders in the state a reliable, cost-conscious ambulance option built to get in service quickly and stay there.

“We’re excited to keep building on what’s already a strong relationship,” said Scott Cummings, Director of Sales for Medix Specialty Vehicles. “Hughes understands their customers and the demands EMS teams face every day. Expanding into Idaho means departments there now have a trusted local partner who can deliver a Medix ambulance that’s built right and ready to work.”

With 25 years of ambulance manufacturing experience, Medix focuses on delivering high-value ambulances through consistent production, repeatable designs, and competitive lead times. Combined with Hughes Fire Equipment’s long-standing reputation for service and support, Idaho customers can expect a dependable partnership from spec to delivery and beyond.
