PRESS RELEASE
VAN WERT, Ohio — Demers Ambulances, a trusted ambulance manufacturer known for its future-forward ambulance designs, will showcase two at FDIC International—the award-winning FXP 174 Type I and the proven MXP 170 Type I—at Booth #5574 in the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis from April 23-25, 2026. Visitors can connect with the Demers team and experience firsthand how intentional innovation is improving crew mobility, safety, and patient care.
“FDIC is where the industry comes together to discover what’s next,” said Kris Turner, U.S. Channel Development Director for Demers. “What makes the FXP 174 and MXP 170 special is how they’re intentionally designed around the crew. Every feature—from seating and layout to climate and storage—is built to improve how paramedics move, work, and care for patients in real-world conditions.”
Leading the showcase is the FXP 174 Type I. First introduced at EMS World in October 2025 and the only ambulance to win the 2025 EMS World Innovation Award, the FXP 174 is designed around how paramedics actually work. It delivers a suite of crew-forward innovations, led by the industry-first FX Action Seats.
Positioned near the stretcher, the FX Action Seats allow paramedics to remain safely buckled while maintaining full access to the patient and critical equipment. The ergonomic design stabilizes responders using their legs, reducing fatigue and freeing their hands for patient care. Tested to withstand 26G acceleration, the seats also feature integrated belt sensors that increase driver awareness and improve safety during transport. Attendees can experience the FX Action Seat firsthand—both as a standalone prop on the show floor and installed in the ambulance itself.
The FXP 174’s door-forward design and expanded workspace further improve workflow, allowing crews to move more efficiently during critical moments. Enhanced lighting patterns, increased window visibility, taller rear doors, and a clinically driven interior layout all support greater situational awareness and a safer working environment.
Also on display is the MXP 170 Type I—one of Demers’ most trusted models and intentionally designed for performance and built to support crews managing demanding call volumes and long shifts. The unit on display is provided courtesy of Homer Township Fire Department and Demers authorized dealer partner, MacQueen Emergency Group.
The Homer Township Type I ambulance includes LiquidSpring suspension, ensuring a smooth ride for both patient and crew during transport, reducing fatigue and improving comfort with a spacious and ergonomic layout. An Opticom® infrared traffic control system helps crews move through intersections more safely and efficiently by controlling traffic signals during emergency response.
Inside the module, a patient camera system gives crews additional visibility while transporting patients. The truck is Stryker PowerLOAD-ready, helping to reduce lifting injuries and improve safety during patient loading.
To maintain a stable care environment in any climate, the ambulance features an independent air-conditioning system with a dual roof condenser, ensuring consistent temperature control even during extended operations. Combined with the MMC Multiplex Electrical System, organized storage, and the durable aluminum construction standard across Demers ambulances, the MXP 170 provides dependable performance when operations demand more.
