WEARE, N.H. — An intoxicated woman assaulted two police officers and an emergency medical technician Sunday in Weare, according to a statement by the Weare Police Department.
Officer Ken Cox and Dan Aiken responded to 618 Reservoir Drive to investigate a complaint from a resident about a family member being intoxicated and potentially violent, according to the statement.
The woman, 34-year-old Amanda Abrams of Weare, was visibly drunk and disorderly, the police said. Cox and Aiken called the Weare EMT to evaluate Abrams, the police said. Abrams then assaulted one of the EMT members, according to the police.
According to the police, Cox and Aiken attempted to arrest Abrams, at which point she resisted arrest and hit Cox in the groin. After she was handcuffed, she broke free from Aiken and attempted to escape police custody, the police said. When Aiken caught Abrams, she kicked him in the groin, the police said.
Once at the station, Abrams threw a bottle of water at another officer, according to the police.
Abrams is being held on $4,000 bail pending arraignment in Goffstown District Court. She is being charged with three counts of assault on a police officer and one count each of assault on an EMT member, resisting arrest and attempting escape.
