UK paramedic undergoes hearing after getting high in ambulance

The Telegraph

On one occasion Ms Pegg tumbled out of the back of her ambulance and told colleagues, ‘I feel like I’ve died’, the Health Professions Council heard. She was caught when colleagues noticed stocks of nitrous oxide known under the trade brand Entonox were rapidly diminishing.

Despite a disciplinary hearing and promises never to take the gas again, she was found ‘lying face down on a stretcher’ a second time.

Melinka Berridge, for the HPC, said that on the first occasion she was on duty with colleague John Cooper, another member of the Lichfield Ambulance Station in Staffordshire.
