EMS crew helps evacuate Texas nursing home

The crew evacuated 180 residents over a span of eight hours; no one was seriously injured

HALLETSVILLE, Texas — An EMS crew picked up a mission to evacuate elderly residents of a nursing home while making their trek to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.

KTXS reported that Taylor County EMS was on its way to Victoria when they picked up the mission to evacuate in Hallettsville, which is about 45 minutes away from their destination.

They teamed up with other crews from different cities in Texas and evacuated 180 residents over eight hours, according to the agency’s Facebook page.

No residents were reported seriously injured.
