Ill. man charged with punching paramedic

HARVARD, Ill. — A Harvard Fire Protection District paramedic was assaulted by a patient being treated at Mercyhealth Hospital in Harvard, Illinois.
Steven N. Salzman, 58, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, was charged with aggravated battery to a nurse, a Class 3 felony, Lake and McHenry County Scanner reported.
According to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court, Salzman struck a male paramedic in the chest with a closed fist.
McHenry County Judge Tiffany Davis ordered Salzman held on a $20,000 bond in the McHenry County Jail after he was treated, LMCS reported.
