Mich. paramedic, EMT save former ambulance director

PORTLAND, Mich. — Paramedic Jeff Carrow and EMT, Brad Smith responded to an alert of a man having chest pain, only to discover their patient was former Portland Ambulance director, Dave Brown, WLNS reported.

Carrow and Smith arrived at Brown’s home within five minutes of the 911 call and immediately began assessing Brown, who went from speaking clearly to being unresponsive and not breathing. They identified he was in cardiac arrest and began CPR before defibrillating Brown.

Thanks to Carrow and Smith’s efforts, Brown regained consciousness before being transported to the hospital and has since made a full recovery.
