Pa. ambulance group looks to drop paramedic unit

SWOYERSVILLE, Pa. — The Swoyersville Community Ambulance Association wants to end its relationship with an emergency service provider it says is unacceptable.

Citing negligence and overbilling, ambulance association president Rob Koval asked council Monday for permission to end its affiliation with Trans-Med, a Forty Fort-based paramedic unit contracted to serve Swoyersville residents.

Paramedics assist ambulance association volunteers with serious medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrests or traumatic injuries, according to Northeast Paramedics employees. ...
