WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A Hawthorne man was sentenced today to six months in jail for the hit-and-run death of an Elmsford father of five last year.
Scott Desimone, a former New York City emergency medical technician, hit Manuel Guaman Saca, 51, with a rental car early on March 1, 2008, along Saw Mill River Road (Route 9A).
Saca, a father of five, was walking to his job at a newspaper distribution center off Hunter Lane when he was struck. Desimone did not stop to help the injured man, who died along the road. A truck driver found Saca’s body in a snow-covered roadside ditch.
