GYPSUM, Colo. — A teenager walking down the center of U.S. 6 died when an ambulance struck him and the crew provided life support.

Joseph Creek, 16, suffered several injuries, including a severe head injury, in the accident that happened Wednesday night, Cpl. Dennis Gibbons of the Colorado State Patrol said.

Investigators believe Creek had been drinking alcohol, Gibbons said. The ambulance was heading to a station and was not responding to a call, Western Eagle County Ambulance District Manager Chris Dick said. ...
