Minn. first responders called to man attacked by bull

Police in Parkers Prairie had to euthanize the bull before EMS could reach and treat the patient

PARKERS PRAIRIE, Minn. — A rural Parkers Prairie resident is dead following an attack by a bull on Aug. 26.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call, at approximately 6:14 p.m., reporting that an adult was being attacked by a bull, at a farm property in rural Parkers Prairie.

When law enforcement arrived on scene the bull had to be euthanized in order to render aid to the victim. The victim was later pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Jerry Altman, 64, of Parkers Prairie.

The incident is under investigation.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, Parkers Prairie Police, Fire, EMS, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Life Link Air Ambulance responded to the incident.
