FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Six people were injured when an ambulance collided with a van Friday afternoon in Fountain Valley, police said.

A van traveling east on Warner Avenue collided at about 2:50 p.m. at Euclid Street and Warner Avenue with a CARE ambulance responding to a call with its emergency lights and siren operating, Lt. Matt Sheppard said.

The ambulance overturned.

Five people inside and a passenger in the van were hurt. Sheppard said he was unaware if any of victims in the ambulance were patients.

The injured were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, he said.
