ALHEIM, Germany — An ambulance in Germany was on its way to an emergency call when it hit black ice on the road, slid into a tree and caught on fire.
Hessenschau.de reported there were two paramedics and a trainee in the ambulance when the crash occurred. They were able to escape the ambulance before it caught fire.
One of the paramedics suffered minor injuries and was brought to the hospital for observation.
Police said they believe the impact on the gas cylinders caused them to explode when the ambulance hit the tree. The ambulance was completely burned out.
