NATICK, Mass. — A Natick woman was arrested police said after she punched a cop and kicked a paramedic on Sunday.
Police arrested Robin Melinda Keane, 49, at 11:52 p.m. on North Avenue, prosecutor Laura Miller said Monday during Keane’s Natick District Court arraignment.
Police had gone to 4 North Ave. around 11:15 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. Keane had been staying at 4 North Ave., but the resident she was staying with ordered her to leave. She went outside and began yelling and screaming, the prosecutor said.
Police calmed her down and left, but a half hour later, they returned after another call reporting Keane was yelling and screaming yet again. Officers thought issuing her a Section 12, which is an involuntary psychological evaluation at a hospital, was the best route for her. Keane became angry.
“She punched an officer and kicked a paramedic in the groin,” Miller said.
Police arrested Keane, of 4 North Ave., and charged her with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery on ambulance personnel and interfering with a firefighter.
Keane was later taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Natick for a psychological evaluation.
Miller did not ask for bail, but asked that Keane be ordered to return to the hospital for further treatment. Judge Matthew McGrath agreed.
Keane is due back in court on May 16 for a pretrial conference.
