BALTIMORE - The Baltimore City Fire Department has been awarded $1.3 million in federal funding through the US Department of Homeland Security. This is the largest award for Maryland this year.
The Baltimore fire department will use its grant to better paramedic care through upgraded equipment and training. A mobile training center will also be purchased for use by the city fire department and surrounding jurisdictions. The grant will also be used to buy computers and equipment to monitor progress during incidents.
