Nature Coast EMS Educators Receive State EMS Award

The Florida Association of Emergency Medical Services Educators (FAEMSE), in cooperation with corporate sponsors, awarded Nature Coast EMS team members Floyd Mead and Ron Bray with State Continuing Educational Instructor of the Year and State EMS Preceptor of the Year respectively for exemplifying excellence in EMS education in the State of Florida.

Not-for-profit Nature Coast EMS, located in Lecanto, Fl. enjoyed a proud moment as two of its team members, Floyd Mead and Ron Bray received Florida state recognition in the 2011 FAEMSE Annual Awards.

Floyd Mead who was awarded EMS Continuing Educational Instructor of the Year is the Clinical Supervisor for Nature Coast EMS. As such, he is responsible for day to day supervision of field staff, the development and implementation of new and continuing education for team members, the development and implementation of CEU training for staff and the creation of the organization’s two-year education calendar. With a great leadership style, Mr. Mead teaches all EMS curriculums and also responds as a paramedic during 9-1-1 emergency situations.

Ron Bray, awarded EMS Preceptor of the Year is a critical care paramedic and lead instructor for the Critical Care Paramedic Program. Ron has been a preceptor for Nature Coast EMS during the past five years. He has successfully preformed more than 35 critical skills and 219 non-critical skills during the past year. As a preceptor, he is distinguished as walking his talk. He practices, lives, and breathes the process of overseeing the skill proficiencies of his EMS students with the steadfastness and distinction of a clinically sound quality pre-hospital medicine provider.
