Paramedics were returning from transporting a patient when a hippo walked into the roadway, reported the Times Live.
Two paramedics were discharged from the hospital Tuesday; the EMS provider who was operating the ambulance remains in the hospital.
“This is the first time that I have heard of hippos in the area in all my 17 years working that route,” Charl Blake, owner of Life 24 Ambulance said.
