HANOVER, N.H. — April Premo, an EMT at Newport Fire, was in the car on the way to the hospital with soon-to-be parents Justine and David Beauchaine.
They were about a half-mile away from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center when the baby was born, WMUR reports.
“We pulled over and there she was,” Premo said”
By the time Premo pulled over and ran to the passenger side door the baby’s head and shoulders were already out. Premo jumped into action and helped deliver the baby – her great niece in the front seat of her truck on Sunday at 3:21 a.m. It was her first time delivering a child.
Ava-Lyn Rose Marie Beauchaine weighs 5 pounds, 5 ounces and is 19 inches long.
