KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An EMT was injured after a stolen vehicle crashed into an ambulance Wednesday evening.
Officials said the stolen car hit the ambulance, which was transporting a patient, causing the ambulance to veer off the road and crash into a pond. The EMT was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. There were no other reported injuries.
When police arrived at the scene, they determined that the vehicle was stolen, reported WBIR.
The driver of the vehicle was cited for no insurance, violating state registration and failure to maintain a lane, reported the Knoxville News Sentinel. They are not a suspect in the vehicle theft.
Police are investigating the crash.
