BAWSEY, England — A student paramedic was struck by a car and seriously injured while directing traffic.
The paramedic was wearing a high-visibility jacket while directing traffic after his ambulance broke down, Eastern Daily Press reported.
A car traveling in the opposite direction hit him under unclear circumstances. The driver stopped at the scene and waited for another paramedic to call for help.
The two paramedics were en route to a call at the time of the incident.
The student paramedic, who was not identified, was airlifted to a hospital and was reported in serious but stable condition.
Police are investigating the incident.
