FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A Fort Wayne man has admitted to his role in a brazen ambulance shooting that left several people injured last fall. Traneilous Jackson, 24, pleaded guilty to slew of charges, including four counts of attempted murder, Monday in Allen Superior Court.
Jackson is accused of using a handgun to pepper a moving ambulance and a car trailing the emergency vehicle with bullets Sept. 9. The ambulance had been en route to a hospital carrying a man who had been stabbed at Piere’s nightclub earlier that morning. The man’s family was in the car trailing the ambulance.
As part of a plea agreement Allen County prosecutors are recommending Jackson be ordered to serve 60 years in prison. A judge will decide to accept or reject the plea deal at Jackson’s sentencing hearing at a later date.
