Former ND EMT faces embezzlement charges

Tamra Bulik is accused of stealing $31,000 over a two-year period

LAKOTA, N.D. — A former employee of Lakota Ambulance Service is accused of embezzling $31,000 from the department.

Tamra Bulik, 52, faces 25 felony charges for forging checks and financial documents over a period of about two years.

According to the Grand Forks Herald, Bulik was given access to financial records, bills and checks after she was hired in 2014 as the department’s only full-time employee.

During her employment, the Lakota Ambulance Service noticed discrepancies in their finances, and reported possible embezzlement to the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

The Bureau began investigating Bulik, and accused her of forging checks for herself and receiving money for “holidays” that she did not work.

Her next court hearing is Sept. 30.
