Platinum Educational Group Celebrates EMS Week with Customer Appreciation

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – Platinum Educational Group--the Testing, Scheduling, and Skills Tracking Experts, emphasized appreciation for their customers and the EMS community as a whole for National EMS Week 2016. Paramedics turned entrepreneurs, Doug Smith and Tom Gottschalk, shared 50 years of EMS experience before deciding to utilize that knowledge to help educate others in the EMS and allied health industries. In 2002, they launched the industry leading testing, scheduling, and skills tracking online software company, Platinum Educational Group. To celebrate EMS week, and to give back to the hard working instructors and students in EMS, the company unveiled a local and national promotion.

Platinum provided three local resident EMS agencies and schools with two surprises. First, Massages by Sarah, LLC arrived at AMR of West Michigan and Life EMS to provide chair massages for the hard working EMT’s, Paramedics, and support staff at both organizations. As expected, the massages were well received. Becky Briggs from AMR stated, “The huge smile on their faces told it all. Everyone was super excited to receive a chair massage!”. Next, the EMT and Paramedic students of Life EMS and Great Lakes EMS were catered with a frozen drink and gifts of recognition of their dedication to the EMS profession. On behalf of her students Great Lakes EMS Director of Operations, Melissa Huisman, stated “They were very excited when they came in and saw the slushy machine, everyone enjoyed it very much!”.

Nationally, Platinum also reached out to all their current customers and offered each a $50 credit per Platinum product utilized. The credit(s) can be applied to either help finance a student’s initial EMR-EMT-AEMT or Paramedic enrollment or as a buffer to the school’s future license renewal of Platinum products. The goal is to help offset student costs and budget constraints. In 2015 Platinum Educational Group began their annual EMS scholarship program to help offset student tuition costs as well.

“In our experience, EMS and allied health training institutes are typically stretched on their budgets or at least one student needs some financial assistance. We hope these small tokens of customer appreciation can help,” specified Platinum’s COO and co-founder Tom Gottschalk. As for the slushy machine and massages, he also added, “They deserve to get spoiled during EMS week. It feels good to acknowledge our brothers and sisters in EMS when we can.”
