ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A south Allentown man allegedly stabbed himself Friday in the city and then fought with police and paramedics who attempted to help him, according to court records.

Steven M. Marsh, 26, of the 2400 block of Allenbrook Drive, Allentown, was charged with three counts each of terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment, two counts of simple assault and a count of public drunkenness. He was arraigned by District Judge David M. Howells Jr. and sent to Lehigh County Jail under $15,000 bail.

According to a criminal complaint:

Police were dispatched to Marsh’s apartment at 1:10 a.m. Friday on a report of a man who had stabbed himself and was breaking things in the apartment. Allentown officers arrived to find Marsh leaving his apartment.

Marsh, who appeared to be intoxicated, had blood on his pants, and officers tried to check him for injuries, but he said he did not want to talk to them and started to walk away.

Police again attempted to get him to stay so paramedics could examine him, but he became combative and attempted to punch an officer. The officer then attempted to take him into custody, but Marsh made threats to kill him and also tried to spit on another officer.

Marsh later made threats to paramedics and hospital staff attempting to help him.
