BATON ROUGE — An intoxicated man was arrested over the weekend after kicking and threatening to kill a paramedic.
Police requested paramedics to the scene, where Micah West, 32, was walking into traffic while carrying “a handle of Fireball” whiskey, reported WBRZ.
EMS arrived at the scene, placed West in a gurney and began to leave. During transport, West unbuckled himself, grabbed a paramedic and yelled, “I am going to f***ing kill you!”
Police records show that West’s actions forced EMS providers to pull the ambulance over and request police assistance. West kicked the driver three times before he was handcuffed to the gurney.
Multiple officials had to strap West onto the hospital bed; his blood-alcohol content was 0.298.
The paramedics involved did not need medical attention, although one paramedic’s ankle was hurt and swollen.
West was charged with battery of emergency personnel.
