MIDDLETOWN — A man who was working under his vehicle in the parking lot of a Middletown drug store Sunday afternoon was injured when his car fell off the jack, according to Middletown fire officials.

The man, James Harrison, was transported to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown by paramedics. He was not listed as a patient there on Sunday night, according to hospital officials.

The man apparently was working on his vehicle around 4:15 p.m. in the parking lot of CVS, 3445 Union Road. Pat Abbatiello, store manager of CVS, said a witness ran into the store, yelling for someone to call 911. Abbatiello then went into the parking lot, and with assistance from several people, lifted the car off the man, he said.

Abbatiello was unsure how serious the man was injured. He said the man was not an employee of CVS.
