DERRY TWP., Pa. — When you work for Life Lion Critical Care Transport, you roar into action at a moment’s notice.
About 7:45 a.m. one Wednesday this month, someone hurries into Life Lion’s hangar in Derry Twp. and announces that Life Lion must fly to Capital City Airport to respond to a medical emergency.
The room comes alive. A tractor pulls the royal-blue helicopter onto the helipad outside. The tractor detaches, and the pilot, a paramedic and a nurse scurry inside the aircraft. The helicopter’s blades begin to spin. Soon, the aircraft is speeding off.
