Stroke is a very common medical emergency encountered by EMS providers in the field. In fact, it is the third leading cause of death in the United States as well as a leading cause of long-term disability. But how much does the average provider really know about stroke, it’s symptoms and treatments?
To find out, EMS1 conducted a reader survey to determine exactly how well the average EMS provider knows about all things stroke. From what stroke scales EMS providers are using to where they send stroke victims once identified, the results were illuminating.
