Adam Timm is head of change management for RapidDeploy. He began his 17-year career in public safety as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for the Los Angeles Police Department, where he spent over a decade under the headset. He left the LAPD after founding his training and consulting company, The Healthy Dispatcher, to provide training classes and consulting services to dispatchers across the country. Adam’s energetic presentations and uplifting message have made him one of the most highly regarded speakers in the 9-1-1 industry.

Adam is dedicated to empowering the current and future leaders of 9-1-1. He is the author of three books including “Dispatcher Stress: 50 Lessons on Beating the Burnout” and “People Driven Leadership: How the Best 9-1-1 Centers Inspire Positive Change.”

Yoona is a branded content project lead with Lexipol Brand Studio. She frequently covers public safety technology. Her bylines have appeared on The New York Times, Crain’s New York Business, the Chicago Tribune and many more. Yoona is working on getting her master of science in public health at the UNC Gillings School of Public Health.

Laura French is a former editorial assistant for FireRescue1 and EMS1, responsible for curating breaking news and other stories that impact first responders. In a prior role at Forensic Magazine, French was able to combine her interests in journalism, forensics and criminology. French has a bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism with a minor in criminology from Ramapo College in New Jersey.

Rachel Zoch is a branded content project lead for Lexipol, where she has written about public safety products and issues important to police, fire, EMS and corrections since 2015. A University of Texas journalism graduate, she previously worked the copy desk of a local daily newspaper and served as managing editor of a trade magazine for the multifamily housing industry.

Bill McAuliffe is the director of professional services for Lexipol and a 22-year veteran of law enforcement. He served as a lieutenant in positions including patrol watch commander, professional services lieutenant, chief pilot and jail commander. Prior to serving in administrative functions, Bill served as a deputy working in detention, patrol and court security. He was also a member of the SWAT team for eight years and a K9 handler for five years.

Kris Lynch is a writer and editor who previously worked for Lexipol’s Policy and Learning Content team. As a writer focused on the fire service vertical, Lynch authored Daily Training Bulletins (DTBs), Today’s Tip scripts, and articles for FireRescue1.com and Lexipol’s blog. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and more than 30 years of experience as a writer and editor.

Aliese Alter is a senior program manager for the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (W/B HIDTA), overseeing both the Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) and Case Explorer. In her role, she is responsible for the overall management of ODMAP and Case Explorer, including outreach, program development, implementation and national partnerships. Aliese is responsible for interfacing with thousands of partners representing government, law enforcement, and public health nationally to support data-driven efforts to reduce overdoses, as well as facilitate information sharing.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services from Longwood University; and is currently enrolled in a Master of Science program in EMS Systems Management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Prior to joining the W/B HIDTA, Aliese served as a detective in Richmond, Va. During her career, she held a variety of assignments to include: patrol, recruitment and special victims unit.

Jon Dorman is Director of Content – Fire for Lexipol. He has more than 25 years in the fire service in both combination and career departments, retiring as the assistant chief of operations and deputy emergency manager. Dorman also has more than a decade of experience teaching in the Fire Science and Emergency Management program at Purdue University Global (formerly Kaplan University). He has a bachelor’s degree in fire protection science from SUNY Empire State College, a master’s degree in employment law from Nova Southeastern University, and a master’s degree in homeland security and emergency management from Kaplan University. Captain Rex M. Scism (Ret) is a 32-year law enforcement veteran and former director of research and development for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He also had a successful military career, retiring from the Missouri Army National Guard after 20 years of service. Mr. Scism served as a public safety and private sector consultant and instructor for over 20 years. He formerly served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Criminal Justice for both Columbia College and the University of Central Missouri, and is a frequent contributor to multiple sources about various public safety topics. Mr. Scism is a graduate of the FBI National Academy’s 249th Session and currently serves as a content developer for Lexipol.

Connie McNamara is a founding partner of Preparedness Global and has more than 30 years of experience in strategic communication and crisis response. McNamara has served as a senior leader in a variety of organizations and has handled communications around complex situations involving natural disasters, finance and civil and criminal investigations. A former journalist, she has presented on communications at national and international conferences.
