Jerry Brant is a senior grant consultant and grant writer with FireGrantsHelp and EMSGrantsHelp. He has 46 years of experience as a volunteer firefighter in west-central Pennsylvania. He is a life member of the Hope Fire Company of Northern Cambria, where he served as chief for 15 years. He is an active member of the Patton Fire Company 1 and serves as safety officer. Brant graduated from Saint Francis University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. In 2003, he was awarded a James A Johnson Fellowship by the FannieMae Foundation for his accomplishments in community development, and in 2019, he was honored as with the Leroy C Focht Sr. Memorial Award from the Central District Volunteer Fireman’s Association. Jessie Senini is a clinical research paramedic and recovering art student with more than a decade of EMS experience with private, municipal and federal EMS agencies. Having traveled across the country to live in Louisiana, a state with no snow, Senini now draws from her experiences on the truck to bring humor and awareness to life and issues surrounding emergency services. Senini truly believes that laughter is the best medicine and hopes to continue to treat those around her through comics.

James J Augustine, M.D. is an emergency physician from Atlanta. He serves on the Clinical Faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University and is Chair of the Atlanta Metropolitan Medical Response System. He has served 25 years as a firefighter and EMT-A. He has published numerous articles on emergency services, major incident preparedness, and participated in national and state leadership activities on emergency and trauma systems.

Jim Love began his EMS career in 1974. Since that time he has worked providing direct patient care, has been an FTO and has been an EMT instructor. He transitioned to management and has held many positions over the years including operations, later focusing on training, safety and risk management. He was the National Director of Safety and Risk for AMR. Jim has enjoyed consulting on EMS safety. Jim is currently the Program Manager for the ACETECH (A Ferno Group Company) family of products. Jim Morrissey is the tactical medical program director for the Alameda County EMS Agency and a former FBI SWAT tactical paramedic. He has a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of the multi-discipline response to active shooter incidents. Jim Spell spent 33 years as a professional firefighter with Vail (Colorado) Fire & Emergency Services, the last 20 years as a captain. He helped create the first student/resident fire science program west of the continental divide, formed the first countywide hazmat response unit and was on the original Colorado Governor’s Safety Committee. As founder of HAZPRO Consulting, LLC, Spell advises businesses on subjects ranging from hazard analysis and safety response to personnel development and organization. His writing has won six IAFF Media Awards. Spell has an associate’s degree in fire science and a bachelor’s degree in communications. Julie K. (Jules) Scadden, NREMT-P, PS has been actively involved in EMS for 18 years, and is the CQI/IT/Data Coordinator with Sac County Ambulance Service in Northwest Iowa. A passionate advocate for EMS, Jules has served on numerous advisory boards and committees on state and national levels. She is one of the founders and past Secretary for the National EMS Museum Foundation and is currently serving as the President of the Iowa CPR Education Foundation and the Board Secretary of the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, Inc. (“Muddy Angels”). Jules is an EMS Instructor serving as adjunct faculty for areas community colleges and is a frequent presenter at EMS conferences speaking on topics covering special patient populations and Children with Special Challenges. Jules is a co-author of Fundamentals of Basic Emergency Care, 3rd edition.
