Officials said the virus slowed computers down and limited access, but personal data was not believed to be compromised

DALLAS — The 911 system of Dallas was attacked by a computer virus, according to officials.

CBS DFW reported that tech teams detected a virus that affected several systems, including the one that dispatches first responders to calls.

Officials said the computer programs were slowed and access was limited, but personal data was not believed to have been compromised.

A Dallas spokesperson said the virus changed the way dispatchers received and entered reports, but the city’s ability to actually respond to calls was not impacted.

The incident is currently under investigation.
