The vehicle became wedged between a tree and an apartment building

NEW YORK — An SUV jumped a curb in Manhattan, injuring 10 people and hospitalizing one.
The FDNY said the SUV crashed into a cab, went over the curb and struck two pedestrians. The vehicle was then wedged between a broken tree and the windows of a luxury apartment building.
RT News reported that four people were in serious but stable condition, and five others had minor injuries. Several other vehicles were damaged, including a cleaning van that appeared to be rear-ended.
Witnesses said the crash appeared accidental.
"I think the SUV saw the yellow light and decided to accelerate,” witness Jonny Giordani told New York Daily News. “In the moment it touched the cab by the front, it totally changed direction and ran onto the sidewalk."
The crash is still under investigation.
