Former Ore. medic sentenced for rape, sodomy

Evidence showed that Edward Blake used ketamine, fentanyl and morphine that he obtained through work in the commission of the crimes

EUGENE, Ore. —  Edward Blake, a former paramedic with Eugene-Springfield Fire, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for rape and sodomy, KEZI reported Wednesday.

A guilty verdict was reached on Jan. 31, and all the charges were related to one victim.

After the prison term, he will serve 11 years and 8 months in supervised release, and Blake must register as a sex offender.

During the trial, evidence showed that he used drugs such as ketamine, fentanyl and morphine, which he acquired through work, in the commission of the crimes.
