On July 7, 2016, five police officers were shot and killed, and nine more were wounded, as well as civilians, during a protest in Dallas. Hundreds had gathered to protest fatal police shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minnesota.
