7 injured in flipped Texas ambulance crash

Two Cleburne firefighters were taken to the hospital for evaluation with non-life-threatening injuries

FORT WORTH, Texas —The Fort Worth Fire Department assisted with a crash involving a flipped ambulance in the northbound lanes of Chisholm Trail Parkway near Overton Ridge Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.

Seven people received minor injuries in the accident, according to MedStar.

The ambulance belongs to the Cleburne Fire Department. It collided with multiple vehicles along the roadway, according to a statement by the Cleburne Fire Department. The ambulance, which was tipped on its side, was transporting a patient to a Fort Worth facility prior to the collision.

Two Cleburne firefighters were taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth for evaluation with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the department statement. MedStar completed transporting the patient to their destination.

Fort Worth fire officials responded to the call at around 3:15 p.m.

Northbound lanes were closed near the scene.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Fort Worth Police Department will be the agencies investigating the collision, according to Cleburne Fire Department officials.
