San Luis Ambulance is looking for full-time, part-time or on-call 12-hour shift CCT RNs.

San Luis Ambulance (SLA), is a privately owned ground emergency and non-emergency ambulance service; dedicated to saving lives since 1945. San Luis Ambulance has demonstrated a distinguished record of service, dependability, and continued availability 24 hours a day 365 days a year. We are committed to ensure patient advocacy. We maintain the highest standard of excellence in pre-hospital and interfacility patient care.

We employ over 150 staff members including Registered Nurses, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, and other office support staff. There are eight crew stations located throughout San Luis Obispo County, for rapid response to 911 calls.

Our Critical Care Transport is staffed with a RN and Paramedic attending the patient at all times.

Full-time and part-time positions come with signing bonus or relocation assistance available for out of county applicants. San Luis Ambulance has excellent benefits for full-time and part-time staff with the effective date first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.

Duties and qualifications include (but not limited to):

· Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action and the most appropriate patient treatment protocol.

· Strong emphasis in emergency room and ICU experience

· Must be able to make patient care decisions quickly and appropriately.

· Performs a patient assessment, obtains a pertinent medical report from the referral staff; determines the need for stabilization in a collaborative manner, performs interventions and assesses the patient response to those interventions.

· Uses medical supplies, medications, equipment, and procedures including, but not limited to; defibrillators, EKG monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, oxygen administration and suction devices, hemodynamic monitoring, intravenous fluids, vasoactive drugs, and other procedures as required to provide the highest quality interfacility patient care.

· Provide patient care at a critical care/advanced life support level according to SLA and San Luis Obispo County EMSA policies and protocols.

· Communicate with hospitals and other receiving facilities in order to receive medical direction and provide critical patient care information.

· Communicate treatment and transport information to patients, family, and hospitals in a clear, accurate, and compassionate manner.

· Assume a "team leader role" and take responsibility for scene management when required.

· Able to respond to conflict or stressful situations in a positive and constructive manner.

Additional Information


· California RN licensure

· Current BLS certification.

· Current ACLS Certification.

· Current PALS certification.

· Current NRP certification

· Recommendation of CEN, and/or CCRN.

· Five (5) years of critical care nursing experience, within the previous 4 years.

· Previous CCT experience preferred

· Must be able to work with limited supervision.

· Maintains current knowledge of nurse practice and standards of care.

· Educate EMT and paramedic partners on new and changing treatment information.

· Actively participate in community education programs to maintain the SLA professional image as well as establish strong community relations.

· Document all treatment and transport activities in an accurate, concise, and complete manner.

· Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
