RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Surry County Emergency Medical Services is accepting applications for the following positions:
- Paramedic (full and part-time)
- Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) (full and part-time)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (full and part-time)
Shift schedules consist of 24/72 with overtime available.
AEMT’s and EMT’s looking to advance to a Paramedic credential can receive an educational agreement to cover the cost of classes.
Employees serving in these positions will perform basic and/or advanced pre-hospital medical care, serve as a part of a two-member ambulance crew and are responsible for medical care administered to the patient. Surry County Emergency Medical Services currently operates 8 ALS ambulances and 2 quick response vehicles from six stations throughout a 538-square mile area.
Job Requirements: These positions require a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and a current NCOEMS EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic credential. Successful applicants must also be insurable under the County’s automobile insurance policy at regular rates and continued adherence to the currently established Emergency Services dress code is required.
Hiring salary range: Paramedic Grade 66 $34,920 – $57,852 / year (Full-time)
Paramedic Grade 66 $16.79 – $27.81 / hour (Part-time)
EMT-Advanced Grade 63 $30,780 - $50,436 / year (Full-time)
EMT-Advanced Grade 63 $14.80 – $24.25 / hour (Part-time)
EMT Grade 60 $27,312 - $44,136 / year (Full-time)
EMT Grade 60 $13.13 – $21.22 / hour (Part-time)
