Director of Medical Operations

Eagle Medical Solutions - Purpose & Mission:

Eagle Medical Solutions (EMS), a division of Aegis Group, Inc. located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, provides paramedics and emergency medical technicians to assist with local and long-distance emergency, critical care, and non-emergency patient transport between hospitals and other medical and health care facilities.  Its medical staff is responsible for providing Basic, Advanced Life Support and Critical Care to sick and injured persons during ground and air transport (rotary-wing and fixed-wing) to or from health care facilities.

Director of Medical Operations - Job Purpose:

Aegis Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Medical Operations Director (“Operations Director”) for its Eagle Medical Solutions Division.   The Operations Director will manage and direct the efforts, results, and success of the Division.

Medical Operations Director Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, oversee, and direct all air and ground patient care operations
  • Develop and execute new growth initiatives and business strategies to help meet organizational goals
  • Maintain and improve efficiency and quality of services
  • Must have a growth mindset and initiative, and the ability to develop ideas and problem solve
  • Ensure that all of the Division’s operational practices align with state and federal regulations, statutes, legislation, and recognized best practices
  • Oversee all compliance needs, including all applicable licenses and paperwork
  • Manage, lead, and support medical supervisors, staff, and other employees to facilitate day-to-day operations
  • Oversee the Division’s risk and safety management and emergency preparedness
  • Works with the Human Resources Director to recruit and secure candidates who will be an asset to the organization and provide review and remediation when required
  • Oversee employee retention efforts, training programs, and staff evaluation parameters
  • Assists with preparation of short term and long-range management plans, evaluates and determines proficiency level of the department and personnel, identifies areas requiring improvement, formulates and executes action plan to correct deficiencies
  • Works with the Finance Department to
    • Develop departmental budgeting and review medical transport billing activities
    • Determine short- and long-range capital and equipment needs
  • Oversee the Division’s outreach, sales, and public relations efforts
  • Serves as the Customer liaison with prompt handling of customer complaints/concerns
  • Represents the Division on boards and committees.

  • Create and maintain relationships with service partners, providers and contractors

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Interacts and maintains a professional working relationship with co-workers
  • Understands the Division’s goals and objectives and how those goals and objectives further the goals and objectives of the parent company
  • Such other duties as may be assigned

Preferred Operations Director Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in healthcare administration, healthcare management, public health administration, business, finance, or a related field; several years of experience in hospital, clinic, medical transport, or healthcare setting; excellent knowledge of standards and regulations of the medical care and transport field, leadership skills; integrity; honesty; understanding of data privacy standards; exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; thorough knowledge of business principles and practices; superior attention to detail; organizational skills; planning skills; problem-solving skills; research skills; analytical skills; critical thinking skills; computer literacy; multi-tasking skills.
  • Patient care experience is not required if the applicant possesses strength and expertise in the other preferred skills areas.
