++Vice President- Clinical and Educational Services++

Job Summary: The Vice President of Clinical and Educational Services is responsible for the clinical care delivered by Medstar, and the development and leadership of the most engaged EMS clinical and educational provider team in the region.

Essential Responsibilities and Summarized Duties:

Collaborates with the CEO and leadership team in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and organizational accountability.

Translates strategy into actionable goals for clinical performance and organizational development.Implements goal setting and performance management initiatives in all areas of responsibility, contributes to annual strategic planning.

Oversees clinical operations and employee engagement, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members provide the highest level of patient care and compassionate service, thrive as professionals, and contribute to identified organizational outcomes.

Monitors performance in specific areas of responsibility, provides detailed performance reports to internal and external stakeholders. Develops, implements, and monitors change processes to insure compliance with organizational objectives

Maintains and builds relationships of trust with key stakeholders.

Oversees organization systems to insure employer of choice position throughout region.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

All clinical & medical transportation operations, including clinical quality assurance and regulatory engagement

Medstar Mobile Health Paramedic Program

Medstar Medical Education Center (EMT and paramedic initial education)

Training Division (Clinical certifications, re-certifications, specialty education programs, etc)

Essential Skills and Qualifications

· Masters degree in healthcare or business administration preferred, relevant clinical leadership experience considered

· Clinical licensure of paramedic or RN.

· Certification as PMP, CPHQ, or CPHPI, or significant experience in healthcare quality/performance improvement preferred.

· Experience with CAAS, CoAEMSP, and JACHO accreditation processes preferred.

· 5+ years experience in executive EMS or healthcare leadership positions required, experience in performance management or quality improvement preferred.

· Proven ability to lead lean, multi-site teams toward effective attainment of challenging objectives.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Physical Skills: Normally, assigned to work in an office environment, where there is little exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the like. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Visual Activity: Able to see and to discriminate detail in written documents and messages from a computer screen.

Auditory Activity: Good skills to distinguish sounds like normal conversation levels.

Sensory Activity: Normal motor skills required, such as being able to type on a computer keyboard and to drive an automobile.

Verbal Activity: Ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of employees and patients, families, co-workers, and public groups.

Other: Occasional to frequent travel required.

Additional Information

Medstar is located in Clinton township, MI with a larger service area covering all of Southeast MI and as far North as Bay City.

Job Requirements

  • Age: 0-199
  • Education: Masters Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration Preferred
  • Experience: 5+ Years Executive EMS or Healthcare Leadership positions required
