Job Description

Grady Memorial Hospital is home to the Marcus Trauma Center, Atlanta's only ACS verified Level 1 trauma center, and one of busiest emergency departments in the United States. The Paramedic Communication Coordinator works in the emergency department to field all incoming patient notifications from Emergency Medical Services (EMS), both ground and air, transporting to Grady. Utilizing information provided by the EMS team, the Paramedic Communication Coordinator activates appropriate specialty teams to meet EMS at the bedside (Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, Burn, etc), and directs EMS units to appropriate bed destination upon arrival at the emergency department.

The Paramedic Communications Coordinator is also responsible for:

-Flight communications with incoming aircraft to the hospital.

-Accurate documentation of the EMS call report in the patient's hospital record (EPIC)

-Activation of the Grady MPI plan

-Facilitating medical control communication for Grady EMS

Additional Information

The Paramedic Communication Coordinator positions have expanded to meet the growing EMS volume transporting to Grady. There are multiple night shifts opportunities open for applicants.

Job Requirements

  • Age: 18
  • Education: Paramedic Program
  • Experience: 3 years as a paramedic

Experience: 3 years as a paramedic

Education: Graduation from an paramedic program

Other: ACLS, PALS, and BLS
